|Może kogoś zainteresuje, ktoś sobie będzie mógł pozwolić: Tolkien na kongresie mediewistów w K'zoo oraz wzmianka o nowej książce.
The Tolkien at Kalamazoo group has been approved for 3 paper sessions at he International Medieval Congress held at Kalamazoo, Michigan in May 2016. The paper sessions are:
1. Tolkien and "Beowulf"
This session will focus on scholarship and research based on Tolkien's recently-published translation and commentary on "Beowulf" (2014).
2. Tolkien and invented languages
This session will discuss scholarship and research related to Tolkien's invented languages, which were based on obsolete and existing medieval languages. Andrew Higgins and Dimitra Fimi's new book "Tolkien's A Secret Vice" will be published in January 2016, so some papers may be reflections on this new research.
3. In honor of Verlyn Flieger (round table)
Papers and discussion on the career of Verlyn Flieger, retired professor from the University of Maryland, who was a trailblazer in Tolkien research from the 1970s forward. Some of these papers will be published in a book honoring her career by John D. Rateliff.
The deadline for submission of proposals for the paper sessions is September 1, 2015 to Dr. Brad Eden at firstname.lastname@example.org.
